Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Playdate Central ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age and a parent or legal guardian to create an account and use the Service. By registering, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Ensuring the accuracy of the information you provide about yourself and your children
  • Supervising your children's use of Kid Mode
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Acceptable Use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Harass, abuse, or threaten other users or their families
  • Share inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
  • Attempt to access another user's account without permission
  • Use the Service to collect information about other users without their consent
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines.

5. Kid Mode

Kid Mode is a supervised feature designed to let children view friends and request playdates under parental control. By enabling Kid Mode, you acknowledge that:

  • You are responsible for setting and safeguarding the Kid Mode PIN
  • Kid Mode displays information you and other connected families have provided
  • Playdate requests made in Kid Mode require parent approval before being sent
  • You are responsible for supervising your child's use of the feature

6. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you post through the Service, including messages, group posts, and profile information. By posting content, you grant Playdate Central a limited, non-exclusive license to use, display, and distribute that content within the Service for its intended purpose (e.g., showing your message to its recipient).

We do not claim ownership of your content and will not use it for purposes unrelated to the Service.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, code, and branding, is owned by Playdate Central and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our prior written consent.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

Playdate Central facilitates connections between families but is not responsible for the conduct of any user, the outcome of any playdate, or the safety of any interaction that occurs through or as a result of the Service. Parents are responsible for supervising their children at all times.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Playdate Central shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion, with or without notice.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease, and we may delete your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
